ASSIGNMENT 5
The Recommendation Report
100 points
DUE: 23 April
At this point, you are ready to answer an important question: Should Ferris State Univeristy approach the John Deere Foundation and ask for support for the Jim Crow Museum? You have a strong factual basis for this judgment, and your expertise deserves careful attention to a key writing question: Who is the audience for your letter? We will discuss this via the list serve. Without a clear notion of this audience, you can't successfuly complete a report that serves the following three goals:
- Explaining the nature of the "fit" between the two institutions by describing
- the similarities and differences of their missions
- the similarities and differences between Deere's previously funded projects and the Jim Crow Museum; note especially how the other institutions have dealt with the questions you answered in the previous assignment.
- Describing any interests and achievements of the foundation's administrator/executive that might help or hinder an application.
- Recommending to either go forward with an application or to look elsewhere.
This final report will draw heavily on the pre-writing documents. It will integrate their findings.
